Rail Accident, AITMC & UPA 2

Ministry of Railways, one of the most prestigious departments of Govt. of India, is again under the forum of public debate. How responsible is the so called high profile department and its top guns! On July 10,2011, Sunday, we have witnessed two tragic accidents, one in Uttar Pradesh (Kalka Mail) and the other in Assam (Puri-Guwahati Express). The incident in UP can be termed as a mere accident only, but that in Assam is nothing but a planned brutal suicidal act triggered by the militants.
Almost two months had passed that All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) gained power in West Bengal. On the contrary, Department of Rail has been running without any full time head there on. After Sunday,s incidents, Minister of States for Railways and veteran AITMC leader, Mukul Roy  was instructed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to visit Assam and take stock of the matter. But he followed the instructions of WB CM Mamata Banerjee and accompanied her to Jangalmahal today.
During the last assembly elections, WB media helped AITMC a lot virtually, just to make the lefts out of power. But the recent remarks of Mukul Roy about his responsibility as MOS and the escapist approach of AITMC have forced the WB media to criticize them. There may be a reshuffle in UPA 2 tomorrow, but having the highest number of MPs in the collation, AITMC is about to play the trump card. Shame on AITMC.
